Welcome to Wayland Scout Campsite

****************************

Wayland Scout Campsite’ was until 2010 known as ”The Deptford Campsite” it now belongs to  Southwark Scout District, Greater London South.

The site is totally secluded and set on a hillside in approximately 13.5 acres of level field and ancient woodland, situated on the North Downs near Biggin Hill, Kent.  The main attraction of the site is it’s simple tranquillity; leaders are free to create their own camps, adventures, hikes and activities in the woods and safe footpaths which extend in all directions, most especially to the edge of the Downs high above Westerham.

We have basic, well maintained facilities: water, toilets, 2 camp fire circles, a large hut with bunks, pioneering poles, an orienteering course and an abundance of greenery and wildlife. The large hill- top camping field is mainly level , well drained and sheltered on 3 sides.

The site is ideal for Beaver fun days, Cub and Scout camps, Group camps, District camps,  Nights Away training, DofE and expedition training, night hikes, nature, ecology or just bring a few kids for a picnic and to chill-out together with a frizbee.
